Role of A‐Site Composition in Charge Transport in Lead Iodide Perovskites

As the power conversion efficiency and stability of solar cells based on metal halide perovskites continue to improve, community increasingly relies compounds formed mixed cations halides for highest performing devices. The result is that device engineers now have a potentially infinite number compositions choose from. While this has provided large scope optimization, it increased complexity field, rationale choosing one composition over another remains somewhat empirical. Herein, distribution electronic properties range lead iodide perovskite thin films mapped. relative percentages methylammonium, formamidinium, cesium are varied, measured with time-resolved microwave conductivity, contactless technique enabling extraction isolated semiconductors. It found small amount Cs leads larger carrier mobilities longer lifetimes tolerance factor close 0.9 generally show lower performance those closer 0.8 or 1.0.
